Statement on the Nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to Lead the Department of Health and Human Services

Washington, D.C. (November 15, 2024) — Yesterday, President-elect Trump nominated a world-renowned vaccine skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The Adult Vaccine Access Coalition (AVAC) is deeply concerned with his selection and urges members of the United States Senate to closely examine his background and his ability to manage a Department with a $2 trillion budget. HHS is a federal agency that is responsible for overseeing a range of activities that literally touch the health and well-being of every American.

We look to Congressional leaders to ensure that public health advances of the last century that were driven by U.S. innovation and integrity and have unquestionably saved the lives of millions around the world are not jeopardized for future generations.
