AVAC is concerned about recent changes to the National Vaccine Advisory Committee (NVAC) charter that seek to expand its work beyond vaccines and immunization. With HHS now also soliciting nominations for new committee members, AVAC is urging the department to keep NVAC focused on its core mission of vaccines and immunization.
For decades, NVAC has played an important role in informing federal vaccine policy. That focus, with recommendations grounded in relevant scientific and clinical expertise, helps support vaccine access and confidence in the immunization system.
